After completing Bible college, Pastor Tim Walker came to Arizona in June of 2004. He, along with his wife Candice, had worked with the youth of Sun and Shield for over 17 years.  In addition to being the youth pastor, he oversaw the media, IT, outreach, and music ministries of the church.  On August 29, 2021, the membership of Sun and Shield voted to have him become the pastor upon Pastor Morris' retirement.  On October 24, 2021, he was ordained by the church, officially receiving the title of pastor.
